A good way to get to Angeles City from Los Angeles is to fly Asiana Airlines. With Asiana, you can bypass Manila and fly into Clark Field. You have a stop in Seoul, but there are rooms available in the terminal for a shower and a rest in case of a long layover. From the USA, other options are available online from Best Travel, Just Fares, Boots n All, Travelocity, Expedia, EVA Air and Korean Air. Angeles City HOTELS and BARS Map Call PAL at 1-800-I-FLY-PAL. It's possible to call PAL (before 6:00 PM Pacific time), reserve your seat, pay at the check-in counter and fly the same day. Philippine Airlines flies between Manila and Las Vegas via Vancouver four times a week. It offers non-stop service to Manila from San Francisco or Los Angeles. No other carrier does. Flight time on Philippine Airlines to Manila from Los Angeles or San Francisco is about 14 or 15 hours. Discount fares for flights departing from anywhere in the world are available online from from Flights.com. You'll need a passport. No visa is required for stays of 21 days or less. Angeles City is a two to three hour drive from the airport in Manila. Your best bet is to arrange a pick up through your hotel, Percy Gonzales Travel, MRC's Tour & Travel Services or Margarita Station. Margarita Station allows side trips on drop off and pickup at no additional charge provided it is within a 12 hour day for the driver. The normal charge is P2500 for a Toyota Super Grandia van, P2400 for Kia and other vans or P2000 for a car -- including 3 cold drinks (per passenger). After 12 hours there is a small hourly charge that is far below the competition. Also, since their vehicles originate in Angeles, there isn't a problem if you girlfriend wants to meet you on arrival or escort you on departure. Another option is to take the Swagman Hotel bus, called Fly-the-Bus, for P500 (about $10). After the long flight from the US, you'll want to avoid the bus unless you're on an extremely tight budget. The bus stops in Manila, you'll have to transfer and it's a big hassle. Ground transportation to Angeles isn't anything to worry about. Transportation back to the Manila airport is a different matter. Your driver couldn't care less if you make your flight or not. It's up to you to make sure to leave early enough.
